Product Description
This PowerPoint can be used to prepare and present the rhythm titika using the chant, Dic-dictation. The first slide has the text to the chant and game. (See below for game instructions.) On the second slide, students say the chant and find the beat bar with the "uneven" rhythm on it. The question marks will appear when the mouse is clicked on the PowerPoint. The remaining rhythms can be added to the beat bars by clicking the mouse. The third slide changes the question marks to "L-SS" for the uneven rhythm, long short short. The final slide goes through the question marks, L-SS, and then finally adds the titika rhythm.

Game: Students stand in a circle holding out one or two fists, depending on the size of the group (larger groups hold one fist, smaller groups can use two.) One student in the center taps the fists around the circle to the micro beat as everyone says the chant. The student landed on for "Think!" closes their eyes and says a number. The micro beat is continued around the circle as the number is spelled and the chant completed. Ex: Seven... S-E-V-E-N is seven and O-U-T is out! The student landed on for the word "out" is eliminated from the game and steps back. If you are playing with two fists, one fist is put behind back. Students are eliminated from the game when they have no fists left in the circle.
