This game builds number sense and algebraic thinking, and was inspired by Number Talks.
There are many ways to get to 25. What if you could use any operation, but only have three numbers? Can you do it with a 2, 3, and a 5?
How about a 1, 4 and 6?
Yes, and yes! (2+3=5 x 5 and 4x6 +1) in case you were wondering :) Watch the rules video above to see how to play!
This is a dice game; dice are required (and are not included in this digital download). Up to five dice per game are used. I have students play in pairs, but solo works as well.
This is a speed game that has students looking for creative ways to build up to numbers using any operation. They are mentally exploring all the routes they could take, and writing down the equation. I love seeing their frenetic excitement as they learn and think.
This product includes 8 different number pages (5 Dice Times and 3 Dice Time Repeat Challenges) so students can build many numbers. If you have students play once a week, they can rotate through the different pages and not grow tired of them.
Games take 5 minutes a round.
