There is an instruction sheet for teachers with needed materials listed and a worksheet to duplicate for students.
The worksheet has columns for choosing the subject, the setting and the plot of a Halloween story. Using a dice, students roll a number for each part of the story and then create a fun story. A student might roll the dice for the subject and come up with "a scary witch." The setting might be #3 on the dice and be "at the castle." And, finally, the dice roll for the plot might be #6 and the story would include "having a party for friends." Adding descriptive adjectives for older students could come up with the following as an example: "A very scary witch with a large wart on her nose and wearing a tall black pointed hat was planning a Halloween party in the old stone castle." Many varied stories could be created in a classroom.
