Description

This Dictation Kit (Beginning) is to be used along side the other Lil' Reading Scientists Literacy Solutions TM materials for Levels 2-6. With the Dictation Kit, students practice their encoding of individual decodable words, individual decodable words with suffixes, individual decodable nonsense words, individual sight words, phonetic decodable phrases, and phonetic decodable sentences.

The Dictation process helps children to focus on sound out words, mapping letter sounds to letter symbols, sequencing sounds in words, and developing short term auditory memory for phrases and sentences. Following the developmentally appropriate Scope and Sequence for Levels 2-6, students build their encoding skills one step at a time, to develop a solid foundation for phonetic encoding and sight word spelling.

This Kit contains:
The Scope & Sequence Charts for Levels 2-6 (Short Vowels, CVC)
The Dictation Pages
The Dictation Form
Instructions for administering Dictation
Instructions for the Sounding While Spelling Technique
