How do I use this in my classroom?
When teaching students how to use a dictionary, give them a chance to explore. Let them experience the dictionary in a safe and easy way. Allow them to find words that start with each different letter and then share their favorite word on the back.
When teaching about parts of speech, have students find a word for each letter of the alphabet that fits into whatever part of speech you are studying. Example: Nouns – students find a noun that starts with A, then B, then C, and so on.
For older students, see if they can find the definition of a word for each letter of the alphabet. Bonus: Use word wall words and see if their partner can guess what the word
