Students have two alphabetized lists of nouns and verbs in English, and must find the French equivalents by looking at two pages of illustrations of cooking terms. (Make sure to print only the first 3 pages for them, as page 4 is the answer key.)
After the students complete the dictionary, I ask them to watch a video that SHOWS how to make a recipe without verbal directions. The students then write the directions, using their new vocab. Ex: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9RSYQNsE-s&list=PLNDaXmcff2Lq6SUbhWzG2rUaoWaxpt4Lf&index=7&t=297s
