Sometimes kids have a very difficult understanding why other kids don't like what they like, or vise versa, how other kids can like somethings that they do not like. This social story explains very concretely that people like different things because of several things: age, gender but most importantly because everyone was born with a different brain. An excellent and very fun group exercise is included where each student gets to complete a "brain map" showing what their specific likes are. Story gives examples of positive self-talk that students can use to make themselves feel better if upset by differences. Great for students on the autism spectrum.
