I created this packet as practice to help my kiddos utilize the strategy of the 100's chart, as well as drawing base ten blocks using Place Value...when adding and subtracting. In class we use a laminated 100's chart (and/or 200's chart), as well as a Place Value chart (I have them as a freebie you can totally download)!! BUT I also wanted to see actual seatwork, that can be turned in and graded. So I created this packet to help with just that. I have created a total of 4 worksheets OR if you want to incorporate each strategy, they can be printed front to back so that one side is using hte 100's chart, and the other is using the Place Value chart! I have also made them somewhat differentiated. Pages 1 and 2 stick with the 100's chart, and both the addition/subtraction problems stick with 100 or below (and then the same with the Place Value chart). For the 100's chart, each problem (some addition, some subtraction) has its own mini hundreds chart, so that your students can show the "path" that they took to find and solve the answer. Then for the using base ten, I have a Place Value chart for each addition/subtraction problem. Then pages 3 and 4, use the same concept with the 100's chart, but in this case a 200's chart...with larger addition/subtraction problems, and then the same concept for the base ten strategy, but again with larger numbers beyond the 100's (under 500).
Grab these Hundreds Chart freebies: 200's Chart
Then of course: Place Value Mats
