This resource can be used in a variety of different ways. Differentiate student work and instruction using the three resources provided.
Vegetarian Argument 1
-This resource is intended to be used with students that are new to developing arguments. The paragraph is scrambled. Students must cut apart the pieces and put the argument together in the chart. This allows students the opportunity to analyze each piece of the argument and become more familiar with the elements of an argument.
Vegetarian Argument 2
-This resource is intended for students that have a general understanding of the elements of an argument. Students will identify the argument, claim, and reasons presented by the author. Then students will need to be able to decide whether or not the claim was adequately supported by the evidence.
Vegetarian Argument 3
-This resource is intended to be used with students that have grasped the concept of an argument. Students will research the issue on procon.org, develop their own claim and write an argument using reasons and evidence from their research to support their thinking.
