This file contains 2 versions of multiplying and dividing decimals: (1) using the common core area model representation of decimals and (2) using the old standards of number representation of decimals. Both worksheets have 20 problems.
The common core version focuses on interpreting area model representations of decimals. After the students write the models in decimal form, they are to then multiply or divide the decimals. The number version has the decimals already written out for the students to multiply or divide. After they solve all the problems, they will use the answers to color a picture of an alien.
This is a fun way to practice multiplying and dividing decimals. The area model representations are common core aligned and help the students understand how much the decimals represent.
This is perfect for a math center, reinforcing homework, or morning work for the entire week!
