This file contains 2 versions of adding and subtracting fractions: (1) CCSS with word problems and (2) old math standards with number representation. This makes it easy to differentiate your instruction by choosing which of the 2 versions fits your students best. This coloring activity starts with 20 fraction problems for the students to solve. The worksheet provides a work area and an organized space for their answers. All of problems have unlike denominators and require that the answer be in simplest form. The steps to adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators are written at the top of the page to remind the students.
When the students are finished with the problems, the answers tell the students what to color in the grid to make a frog. This activity helps the students check their own answers by having them color the answers.
The CCSS word problems are perfect for understanding what the fractions represent in a real life situation.
This is perfect for a math center, homework, or a substitute teacher.
