Students can review short vowels and CVC words with this packet! The goal of this pack is to help students to identify the short vowels, read CVC words, and write CVC words! This pack includes colorful picture cards and differentiated CVC pages for each vowel to help meet the needs of all of your students!
Colorful CVC Match Cards- These colorful cards allow students to read the CVC word and find the matching picture. You can use these cards as a word work activity, partner match activity, or as a small group resource. In my classroom, I have a set that I laminated and put magnets on the back to use in my word work center. I have also used the picture cards for a write around the room activity with the blank CVC page (also in this packet :) )
CVC read and draw – Students read the CVC word and draw the picture to match.
Level 1 (missing vowel) – This page can be used with your students who need to focus on the vowel being taught or reviewed. I usually do a letter sound review and then we work on writing the focus vowel in the blank together.
Level 2 (beginning and ending sound)- This page can be used with your students who need to focus on beginning and ending sounds. The focus vowel is written on the page.
Level 3 (CVC writing) - This page encourages students to tap out the CVC word and write all 3 sounds.
Blank CVC Page- I use this page with the CVC picture cards included in this pack. Students can match the picture cards with the words and then record four on this page, or students can pick out four pictures and write the words independently. I have also used this page as a write around the room recording sheet. You can put up the CVC picture cards around the room for students to draw and then sound out the word on their recording sheet. You can also reverse it and put up the CVC word cards and have students record the word and then draw the picture.
