Find That Clue by Learning Moore in First is a Differentiated -EW, -UE, and -UI Vowel Team Game for small group instruction.
Two sets of cards are included, the red cards are the on/below level words and the black cards are the above/ advanced level cards.
To play, you’ll need counters or game pieces of your choosing. You’ll also need paper clips and pencils to use as spinners.
Stack the cards face down on the game board.
Players take turns spinning the spinner and moving that amount of spaces forward on the board. When they land on a space they need to draw a card and follow the directions printed on the space on which they landed. Examples of directions on the board include: "Give a synonym for the word." and "Use the word in a telling sentence."
The first player to the finish space is the winner.
Extension Activities: You could have students sort the cards by their vowel spelling pattern. You could also use the cards for fast fluency practice– time students to see how quickly they can read through the stack of cards, then see if they can beat their time.
