End each day by reflecting with students, even those who aren't writing yet! This is a resource I use in my self-contained multiple disability classroom. I save them each day and send them home on Friday so that parents can see how their child did that week.
There are two different journals, one with writing, and one with pictures.
The journals include:
Specials & Therapies attended
Favorite part of the day (writing only)
I have the students share their journal at the end of the day meeting to work on communication and turn taking skills.
