Seven different recording sheets to use in the read and write the room center! Does not require extra laminating and cutting of word cards--designed to be used with environmental print and words already around the room!!
Copy and cut in half lengthwise. Give students a clipboard and pencil (and fun glasses if you want!). Have them go around and "Read/Write the Room" according to the chosen sheet. No additional preparation needed, just have them read/write words already around the room.
Pages 1-2: Students pick a letter (or provide letter cards to chose from) and find and write words that start or end with that letter.
Page 3: Students pick a number and find and write words that have that many letters.
Page 4: Students find and write a word that starts with the listed letter of the alphabet on each line.
Page 5: Students find and write words that are 2, 3, or 4 letters. Students will need a letter card for the bottom part, and they find and write words that start and end with their chosen letter.
Page 6-7: Students find the listed sight word and write it down each time they find it. They then count and write the number of times they found each word in the box. Last, they write the "winning" word that they found the most times at the bottom.
I would really appreciate if you could leave a quick comment or feedback! Thanks so much!
