This product is designed to integrate math and ELA! How often do we feel like we’re CRAMMING to get everything done by the end of the day? These LEVELED READING PASSAGES address Math Common Core Standards in order to give your children reinforcement in both reading and math skills.

The passages are leveled for beginners: E/F, middle of the road: H/I, and high: K/L (Fountas & Pinnell Leveling System). The passages address the same math standards but the means by which the information is conveyed is leveled in complexity.

The following Common Core Standards are addressed in these passages/questions:

ELA.RL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
Math.2.NBT.5 Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Math.2.NBT.7 Add and subtract within 1000, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method. Understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, one adds or subtracts hundreds and hundreds, tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds
Math.2.NBT.9 Explain why addition and subtraction strategies work, using place value and the properties of operations.

This packet contains 3 reading passages (Leveled E/F, H/I & K/L) with 3 (math) multiple choice, 3 short response problem solving questions and one longer problem solving with extended written response question to accompany each passage!

**Answer key and scoring rubric included as well!
