Product Description
Students can practice reading new sight words with these differentiated readers!
This download focuses on the sight words "up", "down", & "by".

The student readers are created to print on one page and fold so students can easily use in book boxes or take home! The student copies include black and white clipart for students to color/illustrate.

In this download you get:

Class Book- This colorful class book includes the same text as the “level 2 student reader”. It can easily be displayed on a Smart Board/ Projector to introduce or review the sight word readers as a whole class. The class book includes colorful clipart and border.

Level 1 Student Reader - This foldable book is made up of a simple sentence highlighting the focus sight words. It includes dots under each word to help students develop one-to-one correspondence. It is designed to include extra support to help struggling readers.

Level 2 Student Reader - This foldable book is made up of a simple sentence highlighting the focus sight words. It is designed to meet the needs of the majority of students in the classroom.

Level 3 Student Reader - This foldable book includes more challenging vocabulary and (a) more detailed sentence(s). It is designed to engage our more advanced readers.

Fill in The Blank Student Reader - This foldable book is missing a word on each page challenging students to, not only practice the new sight words, but also work on using their letter sound knowledge to write new words.

How does this work in my classroom?
First, I read the sight word class book as a introduction. We review our reading strategies, identify and highlight new sight words, and decode new words together. Then, I hand out the readers individually to students and invite them to highlight the sight words, color the pictures, and practice reading each page. While students are doing that individually, I call small groups to join me to read their books aloud. This allows me to work with different groups on different levels.
