This is a combo pack of my Differentiated Spelling/Phonics Practice Lessons 21 through 25. It contains five sets of words, each with four activities for spelling/phonics practice. 20 pages in all. I use it as one week of homework. The words correspond with Journeys First Grade Lessons 21-25, but the activities can be used with other phonics programs as well. The spelling words used in this particular packet are:

Lesson 21: (r-controlled vowel ar) arm, jar, barn, card
Lesson 22: (r-controlled vowels ir, ur) girl, stir, bird, hurt
Lesson 23: (vowel digraph oo) hook, book, foot, wood
Lesson 24: (vowel digraph ew, ou, oo) boot, blew, moon, soup
Lesson 25: (vowel digraph ou, ow) cow, owl, house, out

I created these activities for my first graders with intellectual disabilities who are not able to learn 10 words each week in the same manner that typically-developing students learn. Then I figured some other teachers might be able to use them, too!

Each week I select a few of the spelling words from the general education curriculum (usually 4 out of 10) and create activities to differentiate the general curriculum so my lowest students will be able to complete spelling homework and practice phonics rules.

The assignments are as follows:

-Monday/Day One: Cut and paste letters and letter combinations to the matching letters/letter combinations to build the word shown in the picture.

-Tuesday/Day Two: Trace the word shown in the picture.

-Wednesday/Day Three: Trace and write the word shown in the picture.

-Thursday/Day Four: Cut and paste letters and letter combinations into the blank spaces to build the word shown in the picture.
