After years of using home-made manipulatives, I made these differentiated literacy mats to help students with Kodaly approached solfege dictation. Some students still needed help with the organization of their answers, the direction, and more. So, I am sharing with you 4-beat page combinations with beats, left-to-right ordering, placement outline, beat number, a combination, and a blank mat. You can keep them all in pocket protectors and students can select which mat will help them. I have included a set of 4 of each letter for pentatonic l-s-m-r-d in the size of the outline to help get you started. I have included lines and spaces from 1 to 5 lines without a clef for flexibility learning treble or bass. You can also use water bottle plastic caps to start with rhythm syllable dictation.
