INTEGRATE STEM IN YOUR CLASSROOM WITH THIS GEOLOGICAL LESSON!
Students will dig a little deeper into soil as they complete this geological activity! This challenge has students engineering a shovel to dig deeper into the soil beneath their feet. The shovel must be sturdy enough to lift soil and maneuverable enough to uncover artifacts without damaging them.
Students will develop critical thinking and engineering skills as they work through the challenge. They will use the engineer design process the brainstorm, plan, create, test and improve! Opportunities for reflection are incorporated into the activity.
