This hands-on project encourages students to learn about the digestive system. They will research ten organs (or accessory organs) that aid in digestion, and then they will create two data disks that highlight what they learned. The ready-to-color illustrations feature cutaways of the digestive system. Students will fill in information about the salivary glands and then rotate the disk to reveal a new writing window where they can write about the next organ in the digestive process. The open-ended style of the writing windows allows for differentiated learning in the classroom. This project really taps into the multiple intelligences in your classroom by employing artistic elements, linguistic elements, and logical/mathematical skills as students construct the data disks using their fine motor skills.
• Two data disk covers with illustrations
• Two data disk backers with space for students’ writing
• Step-by-step instructions on how to create the data disks
