Time to DIG into STORIES:
Start by introducing the beginning of a story handout. Students dig into the story to find what the beginning of a story consist of. They have to highlight the character, setting and problem and then write what the learned from the beginning of a story.

Next introduce the middle of a story handout. Students dig into the story to find what the middle of the story consist of. They have to highlight three events that happened in the middle of the story. They then have to write about what they learned from the middle of a story.

After introducing the middle of the story handout, introduce the end of the story handout. Students dig into the story to find what the end of the story consist of. They have to highlight how the character felt at the end of the story and what the solution of the story was. They then have to write about what they learned from the end of the story.

Last.... They see the entire story constructed as a whole. They now have to highlight the entire beginning of the story a certain color, along with highlighting the middle and end of the story different colors. They then answer the three questions: What did you learn from the beginning of the story? What did you learn from the middle of the story? What did you learn from the end of the story?

There is also a race to construct the story game for students to play.

There is a total of three different stories that are broken down into beginning, middle and end... and then reconstructed into a whole story to study!
