INTEGRATE STEM IN YOUR CLASSROOM WITH THIS GEOLOGICAL LESSON!
Students will get beneath the soil as they take on the role of an archaeologists to analyze artifacts in this STEM activity! In this challenge students will excavate a model dig site to uncover ancient pottery shards. In the investigation students will work as a team to set up a grid for a dig site, use tools to unearth artifacts, and tag their finds.
Students will develop critical thinking and engineering skills as they work through the challenge. They will use the engineer design process the brainstorm, plan, create, test and improve! Opportunities for reflection are incorporated into the activity.
