Description

A movie-inspired digital breakout escape room. The moment has arrived; it’s now or never.  In this digital breakout, students must choose between the DARK or the LIGHT. Use the force to help you solve each clue to guide you own your quest.

A student answer page is included!

If your district blocks Google links that have a shared setting of "anyone with a link," here is a No PREP Digital Breakout Escape Room (Google Forms) - May the 4th Be With You - No Google account is needed.

**Please be sure that your IT does not block Google Links that have a shared setting of "anyone with a link" if you plan to use this resource.** If this is the case, you will need to make a copy of the clues and insert the new link into the slides. If you need assistance, please reach out to me at shenvalleyveganteacher@gmail.com.

I have included a NO PREP version of May the 4th Be With You - Digital Breakout.

I have included a NO PREP version of May the 4th Be With You - Digital Breakout. The NO PREP version is ready to go, just "make a copy" for each student and then share (Google Classroom works best).

Step by Step Directions

Student Google Slides w/ locks

Answer Key and Clues

Word Lock - Students will use the provided color code to navigate to the correct letters.

Color Lock - Students will round the number to the provided place value (tenth, hundredth, ten-thousandth, hundred-thousandth) and then determine which Death Star has the correct answer. A 2nd version is included for 3rd grade rounding to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand, hundred thousand.

Number Lock - Students will sort each word into the correct number of syllables.

Direction Lock - Students will solve each equation then determine which solutions are even and odd.

FAQ:

1. Should I use present mode? No, students need access to the entire slide deck.

2. Where do I find the clues? Students should click on the "Click HERE for the clue," then click on the long BLUE URL. Some clues "force" students to make a copy. This allows them to manipulate the resource. Once the clue is solved, students will need to return to the original slide deck. (Be assured that students catch on quickly)

3. Where do students click "submit?" "Click HERE or Click HERE to unlock the lock," then click on the BLUE URL.

Each slide contains one link to the clue and, one link to the lock. Just share with your students in Google Classroom, ensuring to select "make a copy" for each student.

Please feel free to reach out to me. My students really enjoy using Google Slides to "breakout!" It provides the scaffolding many need to be successful with such tasks as critical thinking, communicating, collaborating, and problem-solving!
