Teaching Digital Citizenship effectively is one of the hardest tasks every teacher faces.
Website Evaluation is just one of the many facets of Digital Citizenship. Our kids must be able to evaluate websites for their authenticity and accuracy every day. This Google Slides activity (part of a upcoming bundle of activities) will help you teach your students to look at sites with a critical eye, using Kathy Schrock's "5 W's of Website Evaluation."

⌲ Suggestions for starting a discussion on authentic and hoax websites
⌲ Short dictionary activity
⌲ Watch short video explaining the 5 W's of Website Evaluation
⌲ Watch short video of the 5 W's in action
⌲ Examine two websites about resorts for dogsl--one is authentic and one is a hoax!
⌲ Complete a chart by using the 5 W's to collect information from each site
⌲ Write a paragraph that states which site that your students believe is authentic and citing three pieces of evidence why. (An answer key is not included because answers will vary.)
