These rules were adapted from The Nine Themes of Digital Citizenship to fit elementary age student understanding and application in the classroom. After my first year of implementing 1:1 Chromebooks in my 3rd grade classroom I realized that I needed to really dive deeper into digital citizenship with my students, which is why this product was born. My entire grade level has used this resource and we have seen a significant different in our students and how they approach technology and their digital citizenship.
This resource includes 5 rules for being a positive and responsible digital citizen. The rule posters are simply designed black and white with bright watercolor splashes.
Each rule comes with key points to push students to thing deeper about the meaning of each rule and why it is important.
After each rule there is a discussion card. These discussion cards are examples of real world situations the students may encounter and give you and your students a chance to discuss what students can or should do in these situations.
How to use this resource:
This poster set is intended for you to put up with your students, while you discuss the rules of being a positive and productive digital citizen.
As you discuss each of the main rules and dig deeper into what they mean the black and white posters address key points. There are blank cards if your students bring up good points or if you have additional key points to add.
After each rule there are 2-3 situations that correlate with each of the rules for you to discuss with your students.
