Provide students with the toolkit they need to be successful in a digital age. In this lesson students will define 8 vocabulary words using the Internet. Students will then research 3 safety tips for one of the 8 terms. Students will then share their findings with the class. After completing the worksheet, students will engage in a discussion activity.
Get your students moving with an interactive way to have a discussion about digital citizenship! If you're not familiar with the idea a gallery walk is essentially where students move around the room to complete a task. This product contains 15 discussion questions on digital citizenship for secondary education. Tape the discussion questions around the room and have students work with a small group or partner to walk around the room and write answers to discussion questions with a dry erase marker (if placed on dry erase board) or have students use post-its to record answers if you're short on board space. At the conclusion of the activity, the teacher should hold a discussion on student responses to discussion questions.
