Arm your students with the tools of close reading and analysis for the Grade 10 ISTEP exam! Close Reading Assessments based on the the novel Tuesdays with Morrie will guide them through text analysis and multiple choice questions based on the text. A Constructed Response is included to help students organize and make conclusions about what they have read. Higher level thinking skills are used.

Teacher will model how students should read the multiple choice questions and constructed response question before studying the text itself to save time.
After the multiple choice questions and constructed response question, there are five timed multiple choice “game” questions. Teachers will project a slide with the question and students or teacher will read the slide, then teachers will project a second slide that has a 20 secomd timer. After 15 seconds, a 5 seconds remaining alert will appear on the second slide. After the 20 seconds, a red pencils up slide will appear. The next slide indicates the correct choice. Teachers can then discuss why this was the correct choice and students can study the four choices and see why the other three choices should have been eliminated.
