Escape games can be fun, but if you don't have the kit with locks, they can be tricky to do. Here's a completely digital escape game - no/low prep, you just need to make sure that your students have access to Google Sites!
This game is about the country of France and some interesting historical and tourist sites - nothing about Paris! Students will learn about the Pont du Gard, Chartres Cathedral, Lascaux Caves, Mont Saint-Michel, the Loire Valley castles and the alignments of Carnac. The game itself is in English, but if you want to use the activity with more advanced French language learners, you can ask them to use the French version of the official websites (just click on the link on each website).
Be aware that escape games are meant to be challenging - your students will have to work together, read the clues carefully, and be willing to take risks in order to crack the codes. The teacher's guide includes all of the information and hints you need to help students who get lost along the way.
