This independent reading project requires students to read a fiction novel. The project can be used to assess students' understanding of character, plot, conflict, setting, point of view, and theme. Tasks require students to analyze various aspects of their novel. Students will also practice summary writing. Students will have the opportunity to learn and demonstrate 21st century skills while utilizing this Google slide template.
Students need to read independently in order to practice the skills they are learning in the classroom. It can be difficult to manage throughout the school year. Projects are a fun and engaging way for students to practice and demonstrate the skills they are learning in the classroom.
The slides and rubric can be adapted for all levels of learners.
This works with Powerpoint and Google Apps (link provided).
