Let's get digital, digital!
Applied behavior analysis, or ABA, is "the science in which the principles of the analysis of behavior are applied systematically significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for behavior change" (Cooper et. al.).
One of the most frequently used ABA methods in special education today is the concept of ABC recording. This method, which notes the antecedents, behaviors and consequences in a given situation, helps educators form hypotheses as to why certain behaviors and patterns occur.
This ABA ABC Card is meant to help you collect data quickly! I have created this resource so it is discrete - the size of an index card, and so that it is simple - basically checkboxes! As you make your observations, simply check-off the ABCs accordingly, or use the fillable fields (or handwriting) if your observations are not included.
Continue to marry education and technology in your 21st century practices with this fabulous resource that allows you to collect data digitally!
You may be asking what is a digital resource? In reality, it's not much different from the tactile experience. Essentially, an educator distributes their materials in a web-based platform, like Google Drive, which reproduces to their students and their devices. Students then are able to access, edit, alter and print files from their own technologies. In this case, this digital resource is one that is intended for educators and their team!
Using digital learning tools is amazing! It doesn't require printing (and jammed printers), often features automatic save, maintains students' documents in a single location, is highly engaging and so much more! I'm typing this on a computer now, aren't I?!
This activity is accessible in both printable and digital formats. Simply print the included PDF for a tactile experience (it is the size of a 3x5 index card). The resource was created as a fillable PDF should you use it digitally. It was created to include minimal color, should you wish to print it again and again. I prefer completing it on Microsoft OneNote and making my notes/marks with Microsoft Ink. Should you have any questions please email me at SpEdderTogether@gmail.com
• Fillable PDF (it remains printable)
