Finally, a side-by-side paged interactive notebook for use on iPads or tablets!
Brain research supports the use of left and right sides of the interactive notebook for maximizing learning (left side for processing material, right side for note-making). Paper interactive notebooks are invaluable tools in the classroom. With the addition of one-to-one devices in schools, the question of how to use interactive notebooks in a digital format arose in many professional conversations.
This is a digital blank interactive notebook template, meant to be tailored to any unit, then used on students' iPads or tablets in the classroom. The pages are numbered in a traditional interactive notebook fashion, with the odd numbered pages on the right, and the even pages on the left. The beginning of the notebook features a vocabulary organizer, a page for the standards that you are covering, and a page for a word web to be created by students. The remaining part of the notebook consists of Cornell Note style note pages on each odd page, and a blank "student processing" page on each left page.
1. Download into a note-taking app that allows for writing over PDF's (such as Notability or Microsoft OneNote) and save it. Make a copy. (This allows for you to use the original over and over again for additional units.)
2. Open the copy and customize the notebook for your unit.
3. Save the customized notebook. Send this to your students (for example, through Schoology, Edmodo, etc...).
4. Students open the notebook in the note-taking app (Notability, OneNote, etc...). They can add their notes to the notebook in this app.
Please note that this paid purchase is ONLY for ONE teacher and his or her students.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please message me! I am also able to create custom interactive notebooks if you send me the standards that you wish to include in your unit.
