Looking for a simple way to assess letter identification, letter sounds (and associations) and those very first sight words in kindergarten? This is a slides version of 'virtual' flash cards, with a single letter / word on the screen at a time, in random order and in a proper primary font.

When I teach my kindergarten students online, my preference is to use my iPad rather than split the screen to keep things simple! I made this resource with that in mind, but would love your feedback on how it works out in different ways.

  • lower case letters (single slides, random order)
  • upper / lower case letters together for assessing letter sounds and word / objects / names associated with them (single slides, random order)
  • first 30 sight words (single slides, random order)
  • PDF of corresponding recording pages
  • each section has a clear beginning slide and fun, colorful ending slide
  • beginning of each section of slideshow (Slide #) is marked at top of first recording page
  • click to next slide or use 'play' in presentation for slides to change automatically (ideally every 4-5 seconds for letter and word identification seconds - still figuring out the logistics of this feature, but default is 3 seconds)
