Use this digital literary analysis paragraph writing prompt in Google Drive to help your students improve their analytical writing skills or prepare for standardized tests. One slide contains an excerpt from Pride and Prejudice and asks students to analyze Jane Austen's use of characterization and contrast.
Your download provides a link to an editable Google Slides presentation that you can share with your students for them to work individually. Students type their paragraph in a text box directly next to the passage and are encouraged to highlight or underline key parts of the passage as they read. A rubric in the notes section of the slide allows you to assess student work directly underneath the student paragraphs.
The Slides freebie presentation includes the following:
1) Cover page
2) Student instruction page
4) Example paragraph
5) One slide with passage, prompt and rubric
Note that the number of pages includes both the links page, as well as slides in Google Slides, which don't show up in the download but are provided via link.
