⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Did this whole group and the kids LOST. THEIR. MINDS. as we unravel the facts! Thanks for a fun engaging activity!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I used this during a whole-group live lesson and I didn't know how interested my students would be. They ended up LOVING it! They were so excited to try and guess the rest of the fact as we went through the slides. I will definitely use this again! Thank you!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This is just such an original activity and concept - my students couldn't get enough of it! They were into it, I was thrilled that they were keen to practice their time skills while online... it couldn't get better, honestly!"

Imagine this...

You call your students down to the rug where you all meet for whole group math instruction. You ask your students to grab a whiteboard and a marker or a clipboard with the recording sheet attached and a sharpened pencil.

You project these math questions onto your smartboard or screen.

Your students are working out the problems individually and you're observing, monitoring, assisting. You call on a student to share their answer and thinking.

You click on the answer and part of a fun fact is displayed & revealed. All your students chorally read out loud the part of the fact that is displayed on the screen. (Woohoo for built-in fluency practice!)

You continue to the next question, your students are now eagerly working because they want to reveal another part of the fun fact! You repeat the process. Students are reading the fact as it's displayed to them, they're excited, engaged, motivated and CANNOT WAIT to find out the trivia fact!

By the end of the activity, your students have learned a new fun fact + practiced reading and fluency + have reviewed important math skills ALL IN JUST ONE LESSON.

❤️ So, if you're looking for fractions based digital math task cards & fluency practice all in one that are engaging and integrate FUN FACTS, look no further. Your students will BEG for the next question so that they can begin to unravel the fact!

These digital task cards are perfect for your whole group math mini lesson or even during a math small group. Just project the game onto the screen and have your students use their whiteboards to write the answers to the questions! Your students can even play the game during a technology rotation during math rotations.

⭐️This is a GROWING BUNDLE. What does that mean?

You can think of the Growing Bundle like a pre-order. The Bundle currently has 9 completed sets, so I’ve priced it accordingly. The completed bundle will include all 2nd and 3rd grade skills, which is HUGE. I'll be adding them as I complete them. This is the lowest the price will ever be. Once purchased, you receive all the updates and additional sets for free. Price will continue to increase as I add the sets.

⭐️What is Unravel the Fact?

Digital Unravel the Fact Task Cards are a fun and unique way to practice and review math skills. Each time a math problem is answered correctly, a part of a fun fact is revealed. Once all questions have been answered correctly, the entire fun fact will be revealed! This digital task cards will definitely foster curiosity, keep your students engaged and excited while they work on their math skills.

⭐️What grade level does this address?

I am including 2nd and 3rd grade skills in this bundle so that both 2nd & 3rd grade teachers can easily differentiate in their classroom. I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grade and I've always needed activities across both grade levels!

⭐️Why will your reading specialist LOVE you?

Your reading specialist will also LOVE you even more because your students will be practicing reading and oral fluency during math time! Your students will also use their background knowledge to predict & infer throughout the game as they think about what the full fact might say. And once the fact has been revealed, your students will be practicing their questioning skills because these facts will definitely make them WONDER...!

Tell Me More About This Digital Math Game:

  • To begin playing, be sure to click Present in Google Slides or put the game in Presentation mode in PowerPoint
  • Students will solve 10 math problems on a digital task card via Google Slides or Powerpoint.
  • They will choose the answer from the three choices given. If they answer the problem correctly, a part of an interesting fact will be revealed.
  • If the answer is incorrect, the game will prompt them to go back to the problem and solve again {THIS IS A SELF-CORRECTING GAME!}.
  • Once they've answered all questions correctly, the entire fact will be revealed to them!

Why it's great to use this during whole group time?

This is also great for FLUENCY PRACTICE because you are providing your students with the opportunity to read and reread a text {the fact} aloud over and over. Each student will hear you and their classmates reading the text over and over, which provides for that added fluency practice during math time! #CrossCurricularContentIntegration

What's my favorite part about this resource?
My absolute favorite part about this resource is that the facts SPARK CURIOSITY in my students. Throughout the game, as each part of the fact is revealed, they are predicting what they think the fact may be--this gets them thinking and eager to find out the fact! And the really cool part--once they've read the entire fact, they begin to wonder, they begin to ask questions, and want to KNOW MORE about the topic. This leads to them researching the topic, reading about the topic and sharing what they've learned with their peers. And that's what learning is all about!

Other ways to use this resource:

  • Technology Math Station
  • Small Group Math Instruction
  • Homework
  • Virtual Learning-I used this activity via Zoom when I taught virtually. My students would cheer when I'd share my screen and they'd see this activity pop up.
  • Early Finisher Activity
