Rational Expressions, Equations, and Functions –
The Semester Math Review Game covers:
* Least common multiple of rational expressions
* Solving rational equations, including extraneous
The end of the semester is time to review important math concepts before the big math assessment test. Engage your students in a game format with 32 multiple choice questions about prime numbers.
The timed powerpoint slides will display 32 Linear Equations and Functions questions that will increase in difficulty. Each question has four multiple choice answers.
The second slide of each question will begin the twenty second time period during which students choose the answer. A five second warning will appear on the slide before the time period ends. The third slide will display the correct answer.
Students must write down their answer choice before the bell rings.
Teachers may stop the powerpoint after the answer is given and reteach the problem if a number of students need to review.
POWERPOINT SLIDES MAY BE EDITED TO FIT THE NEEDS OF THE TEACHER.
Teachers may rearrange the order of the slides or create presentations with fewer questions. They have the option to put all the easier questions into one presentation and differentiate presentations based on problem complexity. Most of the multiple choice questions are ediable but some are screenshots and are not edible. IF YOU FLATTEN THE POWERPOINT YOU CREATE, THE TIMED SLIDES WILL NOT WORK.
This activity could work with a substitute teacher.
NOTE: Due to math enrichment in which students may take Algebra I for credit in 7th grade, it is difficult to identify the grade levels for which review might be appropriate. It is possible that in some cases sophomores and 7th graders could be studying the same problems.
