Number Sense: Counting to 50
Developing number sense goes well beyond just counting or recognizing a number. This visually exciting slideshow allows for more flexible thinking when it comes to the meaning of numbers! Students can observe and explore the different ways a number can be represented (pictures, tally marks, ten-frames and more!) offering them the ability to build a better understanding of quantity and concepts. Use this activity as a visual in the classroom, to enhance math lessons, “number of the day” activities and so much more!
Not only does this slide demonstrate the various ways of representing each number up to 50, it also give students a chance to show their ability to correspond objects to numbers.
The second half of the presentation has 50 slides where students can find the correct number of objects and drag them to the desired location.
Number Sense: Less Than, Greater Than, Equal to
Comparing numbers has never been easier! With this google slideshow, students move Hungry Harry into position to “eat” the biggest number to fill his tummy, allowing them to increase their understanding of the value of numbers and that greater means bigger, less means smaller and equal is the same. Using this interactive lesson for a whole class lesson or a guided math group is a fun and easy way for students to remember which symbol is used to represent greater than, less than and equal to. This will be a welcome addition to your learning centres as well!
Number Sense: Numbers to 100
These colourful owl-themed Google Slides are a fun and easy way to introduce and/or reinforce number recognition, sequencing and counting skills.
The easy-to-use interactive format can be used during learning centres, morning work, math time or as a whole class lesson on the Smartboard.
Students will love having the included hundreds chart they can refer to for help, while also promoting independence and problem solving.

Canadian Currency: Identifying, Labelling and Counting Coins
This interactive slideshow introducing Canadian coins is a must have in any primary/junior classroom! With this activity, students have the chance to work on a variety of levels independently or with a group. For students new to money, they can examine different coins and identify their characteristics and value. Other students may be ready for adding up the coins to find a specific amount or look deeper into how coins can be broken down into smaller amounts. There’s also the added bonus of the ten-frames to encourage students to count by 10’s when adding up larger coins. Whatever level your students are at with money, this will definitely be a valuable learning resource!

BONUS FILE: Racism: It's NOT Okay
The intention of this presentation is to bring awareness and educate children about racism. It also labels the behaviour for some children who have had these experiences but were unaware that it was racism they were facing.
It is meant to be used as a tool to promote discussion. The children's questions and responses can be used as a guide for where to begin. The purpose is to give children a safe place where they can ask questions in a judgement free environment and become more aware of racism.
There are 32 slides to be discussed. It can be delivered in one presentation or broken into parts. The read aloud is also available on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XjAT4KeA6k
Students can listen to the book and then use the slides as a review.
Although the presentation is geared toward primary students, it can also be used as a teaching tool for junior, intermediate and senior grades. The older children can discuss deeper issues and share their new knowledge with the younger grades.
This will benefit all grade levels by deepening their understanding, building peer relationships, maintaining their engagement and promoting discussion.
