What activities are included?
I am currently adding 5-6 games per phonics skill. The following are the current games I am working on to add to the bundle:
1. Mystery Words
(unscrambling words with a picture clue to self check)
2. Look and Write
(Students will look at the picture, say the word out loud and then write the word on their recording sheet. They will click or tap once again to show the correct spelling of the word.)
3. Spin and Build
(Students will read the sound on the construction sign and then spin the spinner. They will build the sound and letters spun to form a word. Students will then record the word on their recording sheet as a "Real Word" or Nonsense Word".)
4. See It, Say It, Color It
(Students will click/tap through each slide to see each picture. They color the picture according to the color code on the sldies.)
5. True or False
(Students will read the word on the backboard of the basketball hoop. They will look at the picture also on the backboard and decide if the word matches the picture. If it is false, they will color in the sad face on their recording sheet and write the correct word to match the picture.)
6. Spin and Spell
(Students will click or tap to spin the spinner. They will look to see what picture the arrow lands on and record the word onto their recording sheet. Students may click/tap once again to self check their spelling.)
Are recording sheets included?
How will students check their work?
Answers are included for each activity. Students will just click or tap on each slide to reveal the answer.
- How could this resource be used in a whole group setting?
I would display the according lesson onto my interactive whiteboard, give each student a recording sheet, and walk students through each slide. They would record their answers onto their recording sheet. This could be easily used as an exit slip to check for student's understanding.
- Do I have to have a tablet to use this resource?
Absolutely not! One of the great things about this resource is that it can easily be used as an independent center on a tablet or laptop, or it can be used whole group from your interactive whiteboard.
