This is a PowerPoint based lesson on people who are first starting out using a digital camera and taking photos. Following up on our first lesson - Getting Started with a Camera - this lesson goes into basic composition, and employs a few easy techniques students can learn and use to immediately improve the composition of their photos. Students will learn subject/background relationships, and will begin to be more mindful towards their surroundings and their photo compositions. Teachers can move through the slides, utilize the notes on each page, and will give students the opportunity to practice photo and composition techniques. Any camera - DSLR, point-and-shoot, smartphone - can be used in this lesson.
This lesson, in combination with my first, would make a great workshop for adult learners, or can be used as a First Week of lessons for an Intro to Photography Class.
