Kids love emojis They will have a blast manipulating the different emojis in this beginner graphing activity set.

This activity in Google Slides™ is intended for beginning graphing practice when the slideshow is in editing mode, not presentation mode. Works on Chromebooks™, laptops/computers and iPads!

Slide 1: Title Page

Slide 2: Directions

Slides 3-5: Students use the data chart and drag the emojis to form a pictograph

Slides 6+7: Students add their own data and create a pictograph. However, two directions must be followed on each slide to increase critical thinking and problem solving. (Ex: The amount of happy emojis must be greater than sad emojis.)

Slides 8-10: Students use the pictograph to answer questions. (Ex: Which emojis have an equal amount of votes? How many more top hats than umbrellas? Which emoji has 4 votes?)

These pictograph activities are for beginning graphing practice/review. They do not include a "graphing key" since different emojis are used to create the graphs.

Set this up as a computer center or use it whole group!

This product comes as a link in a PDF file. First, make sure you are signed into your Google™ account. Click on the link and you will be prompted to "Make a Copy". Rename the file to whatever you would like. It will be sent directly to your drive! Disperse to your students via Google™ Classroom, Google Drive™ Shared folder, your Learning Platform, etc..

Do your students not have their own Google™ Account? No problem! Since students only manipulate the images within the slideshow and add text, they do not need their own Google™ account to complete this activity. However, this will require more prep time for the teacher. If your students do not have account but you would like to use this activity, you will need to make a copy for each student and change the share settings to "Anyone with the link can edit".
