Reading Digraphs: ch, ck, ph, sh, th, and wh
Digraphs are letter combinations that make a new sound when put together. I am always looking for extra basic reading materials, as the best way to improve reading is to read.
This unit has been methodically created using digraphs and the most common pre-primer, primer, and 1st grade sight words. The words used in the unit are the building blocks for reading. (This unit has CVC words, long vowel silent e words, and the digraphs).
Included in the unit are:
•One animal book cover page (to make a book at the end of the unit)
•12 one-page original animal stories (all the animals have a digraph in their name)
•14 one-page worksheets/printables
•3 page lesson guide
Animals are so fun and interesting, and that is why I have used an animal theme for the majority of my reading units. If you are starting to teach reading, I recommend starting with CVC words, long vowel silent e words, and then this unit on digraphs. I hope you enjoy this product and your children/students improve their reading skills while having fun!
