This activity supports the following New Math TEKS and CCSS:
4.5D - Solving problems related to perimeter and area of rectangles where dimensions are whole numbers.
4.MD.A.3 - Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems.
Included with this purchase are 32 detective themed task cards that will give your third, fourth, or fifth grader practice using the formulas for perimeter and area to "detect" the length, width, perimeter, area, and composite area of rectangles and squares. Also included is an objective page, a formula page, an answer document, an answer key, and a colorful detective-themed game board.
These task cards will make a wonderful spiral activity for you to put in math stations, or can be used as in guided math groups, as a tutorial activity, an early finisher activity or as a whole group "SCOOT" game.
I hope you find this activity helpful in your class. I welcome your comments and suggestions!
