I use this MS PowerPoint presentation in my 8th grade Pre-Algebra and 9th grade Math I classes as part of our initial review of various basic math topics. It can also be used in science classes as proper unit conversion is a must for science. It utilizes a detailed, step-by-step process to convert and solve various dimensional or unit analysis problems. The presentation includes the detailed solution of 4 example dimensional / unit analysis problems. It is a totally animated ppt file and is easy for students to follow and understand the process of dimensional and unit conversions. Any of the ppt animations can be modified as desired by the presenter (teacher) as the native file is attached. I always print out a copy of my ppt files for my students to retain in their math notebooks and to jot notes on while showing the slides and these slides are designed with this concept in mind. The slide pack includes 4 separate problems for the students to solve and a blank template slide that can be used by the student to solve a particular problem.
