Students must know/be learning: quarter note, eighth notes, sixteenth notes, quarter rest
When I use this worksheet, I pass the worksheet out to each child and then instruct each child tap the beat (each house) as we sing the song. I point out that under each house (beat) are the lyrics that belong to that beat. As a class, we complete the first two together and count the sounds we hear. I remind them that in this worksheet, the number of sounds equates the number of note heads they must draw in each house/beat.
