Product Description
This is a board game to teach about ordering basic dinner foods which also comes with 2 reference sheets: one in coloring book style and one in color. The vocabulary covered is: dinner, I would like, I wouldn't like, potatoes, rice, salad, corn, spaghetti, meat, fish, turkey, ham and chicken. To play the game print 15 copies of the board game and 25 copies of the reference sheet. I trim the board game and glue it onto colored construction paper to frame it to make it sturdier and more attractive and then laminate. I also laminate the reference sheets. Students play in groups of 4 using one board playing 2 against 2. I give each group a board game, 1 dice, 2 game pieces to move on the board (I use old game pieces or colored paper clips), and 1 reference sheet per student or per team. The groups find a spot on the floor to play. One team rolls the dice and moves according to the number rolled. The must say the Spanish word for the dinner item they land on starting with whether or not they would like to order it. If they say it correctly they get to stay on the space. If not, they move back to where they were. The opposing team checks for accuracy using the refernce sheets. They may not use the reference sheets when it is their turn. If they land on a Mala Suerte square, they automatically slide down to the square it lands them on and their turn is over. At the end of the game they do not need to roll the exact number to win. The opposing team gets to decide what phrase or word they must say in order to win. Once the game is over they can start a new game.
