These are 56 prehistoric reptiles, 1 modern bird (today's living dinosaur), and 1 Homo sapiens - with a choice of colored or non-colored for a total of 116 pictures. They include the 25 creatures I have listed for free, but they are all colored differently in this file.
The creatures are drawn to scale with each other, so you can compare their sizes. Students will be able to see, for example, that the famous Brachiosaurus isn't so big when standing next to Argentinosaurus. And Tyrannosaurus isn't so fierce if it goes anywhere near the colossal crocodile, Deinosuchus!
The best way to resize the pictures for printing is to paste them onto a word document, such as Microsoft Word. Remember to resize all the pictures with the same percentage so that the creatures stay in scale with each other.
Create a big dinosaur landscape on the wall. Have students pick one or more dinosaurs to color and write a short report. Tape or pin the dinosaurs, along with the reports, onto the landscape. Now your classroom has its very own dinosaur mural!
There is also a "Draw Yourself" picture, where students can measure their heights and then draw themselves using the scale in the picture (in feet).
