Take your students on a Dino Hunt! This unit contains multiple interactive activities to help students with specific skills while learning about dinosaurs!
Activities & Instructions:
Dinosaur Books (page 5)- dinosaur books to read throughout the dinosaur unit or for you to place in your class library during the unit.
Dinosaur Vocabulary Cards with Pictures (page 6-8) - 9 cards including popular dinosaur names and common words associated with dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Description (page 9-13)- Have students use the chart to describe the dinosaurs (i.e., size, color, habitat, diet). These activity pages are the perfect complement to the Dino Fact Cards.
Diggin’ for Dino Facts and Opinions (page 14-17)- Define “fact” and “opinion” with your students, then determine if the statements are fact or opinion. Carry-over activity sheet is also included (page 18)
Dino Fact Cards (page 19-20)- Each card includes the dinosaur’s weight, habitat, diet and 2 additional facts.
Dino Discovery: Compare and Contrast Activity (page 21-25)- Using the Venn Diagram, write the similarities and differences between the two dinosaurs. These activity pages are the perfect complement to the Dino Fact Cards as well.
“Beef, it’s what’s for dinner…or is it?” Sorting/Category Activity (page 26-30)- Define herbivore, carnivore and omnivore with your students, then determine the appropriate category for each animal (18 total). You can complete this activity as a large group or assign each student to an animal and research it’s diet on the computer/personal device. Carry-over activity sheet is also included (page 27)
Dinosaur Craft: Mask and Tail (page 32-39)- Perfect craft activity to complement any dinosaur unit. Step-by-step instructions are included with pictures for each step.
