What educators are saying

My students loved seeing their own name in their dinosaur books. A fun way to get the students engaged.
We used this for dinosaur week. Both children love having a book that is about them. It was also good for bringing in some new vocabulary.

Dinosaur emergent readers meet editable name books! Beginning readers will love seeing their own name on every page of their little dinosaur book. The repetitive text and easy-to-recognize pictures will ensure their success.

⭐EASY PREP These books are easy prep for you. Just type each student’s name once, and the names will automatically fill in on every page of the book. There’s no re-ordering of pages – everything prints out ready to just cut and staple.

⭐MORE ABOUT THESE EMERGENT READERS The books print half-page size, and each booklet is 10 single-sided pages long, including the cover. They are black and white, and perfect for coloring in. Use these whole class or in small groups, and then send them home for additional practice.

UPDATE 2/28/20 - Now these books can print double-sided! I updated the border to a cleaner look too.

The book supports introduction of these sight words: likes, to, go, the, see, loves, all

The text reads as follows, with clear picture support for each "big" word. (view the preview file to see all of them!):

[Name] likes to go to the museum.

[Name] likes to see the fossils.

[Name] likes to see the baby dinosaur.

[Name] likes to see the t-rex.

[Name] likes to see the stegosaurus.

[Name] likes to see the apatosaurus.

[Name] likes to see the triceratops.

[Name] likes to see the pteranadon.

[Name] loves to see the all the dinosaurs.

All you need to edit student names is a computer (not an iPad) and Adobe Reader (which is free, and there’s a link to it in the file just in case you don’t have it already)

The fonts shown are already embedded in the resource. You won’t have to download any fonts. The file is ready to go! Please note that this means you also cannot change the fonts.

The form where you type student names has space for 4 names, however you can create an unlimited number of personalized readers by reusing the file over and over again.

Long names such as Charlotte and Christopher will fit perfectly. Extremely long names will print in a smaller font than the rest of the line.
