Dinosaur Maths Project - NO PREP - Includes a fun differentiated maths investigation for grade 4, 5 and 6 students.
It serves as more than a thematic activity and requires students to use maths skills to learn about dinosaurs. Students use operations to work out how long dinosaurs are, use coordinates to find out where dinosaur fossils have been found, use a scale to compare human footprints to dinosaur footprints and more.
This pack includes:
•Dinosaur Investigation black line masters (5 pages).
*A slightly easier version of the investigation to cater for different abilities (4 pages).
*Some challenge questions to cater for different abilities (1 page).
It can be undertaken individually or in groups depending on students’ needs.
This resource is beneficial for students because:
•It is fun and engaging as it relates to the real world.
•It requires higher order thinking and acts as an inquiry into the topic.
