In this workbook integrating science, language arts and geography, students will be introduced to four dinosaurs and the concept of fossils through brief passages and black and white line drawings of each subject. Each passage is following by multiple choice questions about the passage. Print and copy the pages you wish to include in the student copy of the workbook. The passage pages can be included or omitted from the student copy. It is intended that the teacher should read aloud the passages, the questions and answers to the student(s) and help clarify any questions.
While it could be completed in one sitting or broken up as desired, this workbook was designed to be used over the course of one school week in five 15-20 minute sessions:
Day 1: Apatosaurus
Day 2: Bambiraptor
Day 3: Ceratopsian
Day 4: Duckbill and Eggs
Day 5: Fossilized Footprints
Additionally, the Dinosaur Discover Map could be broken into a five day activity (coloring the symbol for the dinosaur discovery discussed that day) or it can be completed in one sitting as a culminating activity.
An answer key, resource list and standards alignment list for Common Core and NGSS is included.
